#[0] I wonder if the NWC connection string should include your lightning address as an optional argument? Then damus could automatically add that to their profile when they connect a wallet.

and if the user does not have an address (e.g. in a self hosted case on umbrel) this is just not added?

Maybe there's a way to make self hosted addresses more accessible? Lightning addresses are becoming tge standard, and are almost necessary in Nostr. 🤔 There must be a way.

I know how to repurpose the lnurlp file to mirror a lightning address on my own domain. Is there a way to setup a self-custody node to generate an LNURL and a similar file? Then any domain owner could host a file for that user and give them a lightning address to their node.

sure. In that case I would just warn users that they can’t receive zaps with that wallet ?

Power users would need to insert their LN Address manually then if they have one.

I think this is a good idea but should be optional.

Reason for this is not all custodial wallets (such as exchanges) can generate a lightning address or lnurl for each user.
