You won't have any problems with cloning, Clonezilla is easy. Depending on the linux version and the amount of hardware with proprietary drivers you have, you will have more or less problems when booting 🤓
My advice, start from 0 and at the same time clean your system. I like to do it from time to time 🥳
I copy over my home directory and especially my shell history. Else, it's a great opportunity to clean out stuff you haven't cared about for years.
