One of the arguments I heard in favour of ordinals which sort of made sense, at the beginning, before shit got a bit crazy, was that NFTs on #Bitcoin would allow for the uncensorable publishing of important but controversial information. If its an NFT on Bitcoin it's basically permanent, forever.

But isn't that what Nostr does? Notes can't be deleted. Because they're stored in multiple places. Nostr is a permanent record. And its a feature that's built into the protocol.

Notes can be deleted, and I'm sure as time goes on notes will be lost, as relays have no obligations to keep them forever. Bitcoin doesn't have that issue.

How do you delete a note. I understand they may get lost, sure, but then again, that depends on the relays, right?

Yeah, depends on the relay. Deleting notes, depends on the client, and I found you had to do it multiple times. Amethyst lets you delete for eg, but not considered a guarantee

Excellent question, I guess the incentives are the strongest on-chain but for most scenarios nostr is more than adequate?
