The key issue , is that it’s very much the classic us vs them, divide and conquer strategy.

I notice this in comments section of those who attempt to address this concern. The blame always seem to be on “most people”.

The failure is the lack of education targeted to most people. The government’s & tech companies get away with this purely based on that most people are happy to spend 8 hours a day scrolling bullshit on their phones, latching onto obscure trends and arguing amongst themselves about irrelevant facts.

It’s sad to say the problem is the lack of education by those who know and understand what the problems are.

It’s time we all made a concerted effort to radicalise the education efforts

I am not a friend of radicalisation but you are very right that this is mainly an education problem. People simple are not aware of how much their privacy is touched by all the digitalisation and how this could be used against them anytime later on.

Snowden once put it: "Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say."

Privacy is not about hiding criminal things but about being the owner of your own data and deciding yourself what to share with whom. And that is a basic right.
