It has been said that the significance of January 10, 2024 in the world's monetary history may, in retrospect, be compared to August 13, 1971 (Nixon's announcement of the de-pegging of gold), and January 18, 1871 (Germany's unification and leading of the European countries and the United States to join the gold standard within a few years of each other).

I admit that all three days had a huge impact on the world, but the coolest and most revolutionary day of all could only be January 3, 2009.
