IMO bitcoin gave investors a much easier ride over the last 5 years - it would have been super depressing to hold eth for most of this period, watching BTC holders celebrate many wins. That said, ETH has been the better spot for a 5 year hold - at least as of today

Short term, I don’t doubt ETH can outperform BTC, but nothing has changed, fundamentally, it’s still a proof of stake shitcoin

Agreed. I hold BTC (full disclosure I technically have ~$75 in ETH in my Gemini account). My only point is that the performance over a short term (5 yr) tradfi time horizon - but which is an eternity in “crypto” time - is about the same.
