Curious, is this move more an action against telecom or nostr? Nostr seems to have some solid advantages over email for newsletters , but telecom is still a giant for KYC.

I think it's more a measure against spam. Read somewhere, they want to lower the spam rate to 0.3% and less.

They require Email Authentication with SPF, DKIM, & DMARC for all senders. And an easy unsubscription (1 click), guess they want to integrate it better into their Gmail interface somehow.

Otherwise the emails will be put into the spam folder or blocked.
