I think that posts behind the "content warning" should add an additional step of "show content".
What I imagine:
"Show content" should display text but not media
Then an option should appear: "Show media" to load the rest.

why would you make things more complicated
Because I want to see what the post is about before deciding if I want to see or not the pictures/media.
Actually maybe a better option for me would be to always show the text and have the "Show content" just be about media
technically people can add the content-warning just on their pictures, but that is not that well supported yet. :(
