Based on some assumptions of that location, could draining the water sources from the northern part of your state to turn the southern desert into a man made oasis possibly contributed? Didnt yall just have storms that caused flooding and filled all the resevoirs?

yeah that's totally fair. But Oregon is definitely starting to feel the impact of longer term droughts and fire season seems to be getting worse every year.
