Again, it was a touch of a generalization. He writes on topics that a lot of a right-wing audience would identify with, but with a much less vindictive, politically dividing tone.
Think the comparison of Jason Aldeans small town song vs this song. Undertones of dog whistles and topics that unify a very specific group, vs a song that speaks on topics like wealth gaps, mental health and economics in a frank but not divisive manner.
Not all southern music or country music is inflammatory, but songs that talk about politics can quickly become that - this didn’t. Really enjoyed the sound and feel of it.
