[UPDATED] A quick note about Lightning zapping addresses:

❌ 1x… bitcoin legacy address (on-chain)

❌ 3x… bitcoin P2SH address (on-chain)

❌ bc1… bitcoin Bech32 address (on-chain)

❌ lnbc… Lightning invoice (single-use)

βœ… LNURL… Lightning Network URL (reusable)

βœ… alias@domain… Lightning Address (reusable)

Not all wallets have the same features. Make sure you know the difference so you can receive zaps without headaches.

Happy zapping! πŸ˜βš‘οΈπŸ€™

Wow, https://lightningaddress.com is great. My mind keeps getting blown at how many awesome resources there are out there.

It sucks that Breez doesn't have persistent addresses.

I gave up on Breez ages ago.

Is WoS the best option in your opinion?

It’s the easiest, but it’s been a little unreliable with uptime lately. I recommend using LN.tips to get a NIP-57 zap address and importing it into BlueWallet.

Can you post about how to zap since the Apple crackdown? I’ve seen that people are still zapping posts, but I can’t figure out how to do it myself.

Basically, if you’re not on the Damus TestFlight you need to have an alternative client you can use for that. Plebstr, Nostur, Iris, Current (and soon-to-be-released Primal) have this feature until Apple tries to ban them all. I’d love to see dozens of iOS #nostr clients released that just overwhelm their review team until they simply give up.

I have a feeling JB55 was just super unlucky, and the others will persist with zaps, unmolested, for quite a long time.

That’s my central prediction for how this pans out. It will feel very unfair.

Lots of people think Apple Inc is being strategic, but no. Behold the wildly varying interpretations of some mediocrely competent employees of large orgs.

Apple likes to make an example of specific apps, it’s arbitrary and selective, not to mention anti-innovation.

I’ll need to try another client. Any particular one you can recommend?

I just listed five. πŸ˜ƒ

I was asking if you have any preference between those 5.

We’re all using nostr:npub1wxl6njlcgygduct7jkgzrvyvd9fylj4pqvll6p32h59wyetm5fxqjchcan now. Tim Apple can’t stop us!

Interesting! Thanks for the heads up πŸ‘

Can you not run the script in the App Store version of Damus?

I use both. βš‘οΈπŸ˜‰βš‘οΈ

You don’t need a million dollars to do two zaps at the same time.

I would love to get zapped a million sats twice though.

Chicks dig guys with sats.

And also the lightning address is different from the Nostr address - while both look like email addresses... check https://nostrich.house

Who made this πŸ‘€ & how can we influence a change, to have one of the better wallets be at the top instead of nostr:npub1earna05hx6ax38r33h3atmecjzdu547m8suw87w70aw6mlyga4hsqcja5j

Shadowy super-coders, ser.

goddamitt they can’t keep getting away with this

Does anyone know who made the lightningaddress.com site? #AskNostr

Same person that made ZBD πŸ˜‚

they can’t keep getting away with this shit

Maybe you're just being funny, but I really don't get why the hate. ZBD is great, constantly orange-pilling and purple-pilling people from different backgrounds than the default Bitcoin bubble.

Half funny half serious, I agree they do a great job at orange pilling gamers, I used their product before nostr n enjoyed it, I played sarutobi and other games a ton.

I just don’t agree with their approach to purple pilling, reminds me of the centralized socials were trying to get away from when they do things like manage your NSEC for you, and don’t allow you to export it and experience other nostr clients n micro apps with your social graph if you began your journey with their #ZBDSocial client.

I hate ZBD so much. They are the definition of a wolf 🐺 in sheep’s πŸ‘ clothes.

Why the hate?

User imprisonment.

The biggest thing the nostr has is interoperability between nostr clients

ZBD has purposely closed bridges to the nostr by not giving their native users their nsecs. The fact ZBD went out of their way to remove/ hide nsecs from their users doesn’t sit well and gives first time nostr users the wrong impression. Its like buying bitcoin on PayPal and finding out you can’t send off their platform.

That's not the biggest thing the Nostr has at all. When the Nostr gets more adoption we will see less and less weirdo crazies like us switching clients every day and more people who will just use one for their entire lives (one for each purpose at least) -- hopefully the usage will be widespread enough among multiple clients.

Also, why do you want a compromised nsec that has been in someone else's servers?
