Personally I hate having thousands of white pixels blasting my retinas while I'm trying to read.

Dark mode for me
I'm a fan of auto mode, as it makes the most sense to me.
Light at day, dark at night.
Being on Calyx (recently returned) with its pure black theme especially helps.
