Good morning nostr friends, its time for coffee and i'm ready to start the day. Today should be a not-too-hectic day, mainly keeping plants and trees alive in this heat, so i'll be doing some watering. I have observed that there are some plants/trees that just dont do well in our heat/drought, so i wont be babying those anymore. I will stick to the things that are not so needy. As far as large shade trees, the beautiful white oak, aka monterrey oak, has proven to be durable, fast growing (for a tree), and not whiny. To my great sadness, i am giving up on pecan trees. I love, love pecans, and at my previous home i had beautiful, mature pecan trees that did very well. But here, i cannot grow a healthy pecan tree, a sad situation.

Anyway, yall have a great Friday nostr friends, and remember that today is a gift. #grownostr #trees #homesteading

GM María. Have a nice weekend 😸☕

Sorry about your pecans, it’s hard to give up on trees you love when Mother Nature tells you what can and can’t grow in your area. Can you try a different part of the property?

Well i have tried different areas near the house. Also tried many different varieties, its a no go.

Bummer! Enjoy your coffee and the rest of your weekend 😁

Whereabouts are you located?

My comfrey always dies this time of year. Then grows back, only have had the one for like 3 years, it never expands :). My mulberry have been doing excellent.

Yes the comfrey does shrivel up unless its under lots of shade, but mine comes back too. Our large mulberries are ok, but some leaves are browning.

Good morning!

Hey Robin, good to see you☕😊

Good morning Maria! That’s too bad about the Pecan trees, but the Lord gives other blessings!

RIP pecan tree
