It depends on how much you’ll want your future recipients to know you have.
Rabbit hole... but 0.5, 0.1, 0.05 could be good in a long term. Need to be a balance between how to expose or not all your stack (one big utxos), not too small to be dust in the future, at least need to be valid to open a channel in LN.
Balance (1) your desire to not disclose your entire stack when transacting (since your change will be viewable to counterparty) with (2) having UTXOs large enough to offset fees.
I’d say it depends on your plan with them. Cold storage for 20+ years I would keep them at .1 and over in case fees stay around 500+ Sat/vb
I think of it as “outside of my Lightning setup, what will I spend these UTXOs on, “someday” and what’s my best guess for the value then.
If your bull case is that 100K or 1M sats will buy you a car, maybe that’s a good increment. I would keep a range, some smaller and some larger, for various future uses.
It’s hard to know the future, though, and may require multiple iterations.
it depends.
i dont mindlessly merge/consolidate utxos as i dont see a benefit to revealing to others my past transactions.
From a Whirlpool standpoint, Tx0 and then interleaving to consistent sizes is useful. start with biggest you can and as you spend outputs, can take change and whirlpool to smaller.
I'm heading to 0.2 - 0.5 per UTXO. Will deal with privacy later... (lol)
I do wonder this also. How many sats will a TX cost in the future?
