I think if i wasn’t a ‘homeowner’ and was starting out, I’d rent somewhere as small and cheap as I was happy in and Stack like a madman. A big mortgage on a house seems pointless these days as a dream to have. Our models are changing, not sure it’s a time to get tied to an old debt system. I am often wrong though

Yep, it seems like a great idea for an old vision of security for raising a family but everything is in flux right now and there is the greatest asymmetric bet of a century going on. It’s better to jump on this opportunity i feel. Just my opinion
