It is safe for Bitcoin. This incident affects ETH or any blockchain related Dapp. But this incident makes it unreliable. Because the person who caused the vulnerability was a former Ledger employee. Moreover, Ledger is Close source, so if you have capital I really want to change the Hardware + Seed.
The curious question is, why do people who have already left still have access and have access to the code? If you don't want to change your hardware wallet, I recommend reading up on Multisig instead.
