I'll continue to be a NIP26 maxi until convinced otherwise. I understand that it was intended to be optional for clients, but it's extremely useful for people with large followings and lots of influence to protect their private keys using an airgapped signing model, without the shitty UX of manually signing every zap, like, boost, etc. NIP26 is done on nostr:npub1s0vtkgej33n7ec4d7ycxmwt78up8hpfa30d0yfksrshq7t82mchqynpq6j passport, and working with nostr:npub1w4uswmv6lu9yel005l3qgheysmr7tk9uvwluddznju3nuxalevvs2d0jr5 to get it working on Amethyst. If it becomes necessary for clients to implement it to make sense of the network, I think it would be for the best, because it gives you much more control of your private key, and allows nostr users to be more secure.
