I think it’s great that families homeschool, still not everyone has this opportunity. Therefore, we cannot ignore/overlook the families and communities that must send their kids to public school. This is why it’s time to discuss building a new system above the current model. Not reform. I’ve been writing about this and here are the main components:

Decentralized- no admin, parents and educators choose each other based on values (via an app of some sort where educators post their bios, philosophies, published works etc)

Cohorts of educators working with cohorts of scholars only (no single teacher trapped in a room with kids all day)

Geodesic domes as opposed to boxy uninspiring interiors

Hybrid indoor/outdoor learning and majority of time spent on learning fundamentals like health, exercise and skill practice habits
