The policy is not actually new. He proposed it a few days after he assumed power.
I rather have bitcoiners unconfortable with government, not trusting any of them at all. Not saying Milei's thing is good, but Argentineans thrive in the grey... Bitcoin will be stronger in Argentina than in El Salvador, less custodial and connected to the government, without a central database of domesticated cats. Stray cats are good for the Bitcoin network.
Also, El Salvador can serve Argentineans. Same language, similar culture. Better for Argentineans to not trust their local luck with governments... Milei will probably last 4 years and socialists will be back as quick as they left.
