I use Alby and my own LND node. LND sucks because you have to put up money to create a channel with a lot of money just to be able to send and receive funds. This is retarded. Why can't money just come directly from wallets? A channel is just additional complexity that should not be needed.

Lol, it can. It's called on chain transactions.

Speed has tradeoffs.

Security has tradeoffs.

Decentralization has tradeoffs.

Public ledgers have tradeoffs.

There is no way to have it all.

Good luck fixing the eternal problem that has existed for millennia

I can pay people simply via my wallet with any crypto coin. Lightning ruins this simplicity

Easy there shitcoiner.

Other shitcoins aren't secure like bitcoin, aren't decentralized, and many have blockchain sizes and bandwidth requirements that make them unusable now and in the future.

What makes me a shitcoiner because I think Lightning sucks? Lightning should simply act like a wallet. Keep it simple

you're not a shitcoiner lol, lighting is pretty shit and people will come up with better solutions, I think federations are already the next step there tbh

ark also looks promising but who the fuck knows what shit will look like by the next halving

No. The fact you brag about using other crypto coins wallets and how great they are.

Perhaps phoenix wallet is what you should be using?

I could care less if you use LN or not.

I use it daily, it's amazingly fast, is secured by unchained bitcoin, and has massive development.

I had good luck with XMR and Cosmos. So what.

Curious, what do you use LN for daily? What are some good use cases? I was thinking of having my wife use it to send money to her family in Thailand....Will I need open channels for her to send money?

Rx and TX Zapping, poker, blackjack, sports and casino bets, paying back for friends drinks or food, tipping local coffee worker, value 4 value music and podcast payments, paying employees, etc..

Ever growing.

Why not just send on chain? Fees? Just go low, hope fees drop, and if not can always RBF. You could send via LN

Honestly, I would have opened a direct channel to them when fees were nothing a few months back.

Now is likely not the time for new channels, unless you go BIG. Remember, fees are based on utzo size inputs, not amount of btc per se.

If you haven't tried AQUA wallet, give it a shot.

You can send to it, it does an atomic swap in to L-btc. Then can send to another using it via Lbtc from blockstream, or atomic back to virtually instantly. A lil Costly, but fantastic.

Then you can swap to btc, or keep it on l-btc or whatever.

Private transactions....but a fedi, and sort of centralized. Tradeoffs.

Thank you! I tried to zap you but I don't have any more LND outbound channels. =(

No worries!
