There’s also the Bolt Card but I have never used it and I’m not sure if it can be funded without the CoinCorner app. Maybe someone here knows. https://www.coincorner.com/TheBoltCardSetup

Yeah satscards are like OpenDimes and run on the Bitcoin MainChain

The lightning network doesn’t require signing devises to run, only a Lightning node. You transfer sats on your node and commit a certain number of sats in a channel.

The opening/closing of the channel is the only operation that requires an onchain transaction. Once you have channels open, you can transact on lightning without using the mainchain ⚡️⚡️⚡️

So my next step is to run my own node seems like this is my road block I need to just give in and start a Node thx so much my friend

Indeed! Umbrel, MyNode and Start9 are excellent solutions that make it super intuitive to run a node.

Alternatively, if you want to use lightning in a non custodial fashion, you can use the Phoenix app. They charge you for opening channels and manage liquidity rails but it’s pretty neat while you set up your node :)

Running an LND node means you can create individual LNDHub wallets for your family, so they each have their own balance and can use their own wallet app.

The challenge right now, of course, is the channel open fees for getting from on-chain to Lightning. We had very low TX fees for a long time, but the situation is different now.

That seems to be my issue now I bought cold storage but the fees to transfer doesn’t seem right I have been told many times to start my own node i just need to but that bullet and do it thx for the help

If you don’t want to run your own node you can also get a node on voltage but that comes at a cost. Just another

option
