I've done that a time or five. The process takes a few days witn internet available in my area. But is pretty straight-forward. The biggest thing in my experience is: Make sure you have enough free disk space. I'm not sure, but I think you'll want ~800GB to download the full blockchain.

Another tip - leave the program open on a machine you rarely power off. BTC core does not handle it well if you shutdown (Windows) instead of clicking "File>Exit". Not following this instruction has caused my installation of BTC core to become corrupted/stop working.

Enjoy being your own bank! I appreciate all who run BTC nodes.

Thanks for the tip. So you mean to leave a laptop or some other computer logged in to start9 and connected to my node?

I’m not sure how that works with Start9 (Linux). I use Windows machines. If you’re connecting a Windows machine to Start9 (Remote Desktop Connection), you can start the program and disconnect from the desktop session(Whatever was running on Start9 should continue as long as your user is logged in.). I hope this was helpful. Feel free to message back if you have more questions. My work background is IT/tech support.

Ah, ok. Gives me something to look into.
