I live in one of the hottest regions in the USA, with heat indicies routinely over 110 degrees. I have a single window that opens. I have a single ceiling fan.
I have air conditioners in every other room, and I have never once turned them on. My electricity is included in the rent, so my landlord loves me.
The settlers founded this city 300 years ago. They didn't have ac, fans or even ice. No "moisture wicking clothes". Almost all work was done during the daytime outside. Somehow they survived.
People have become wimps.
