I find it incredible how the Bitcoin class of 2021 has no idea who Roger Ver, Jihan Wu or Mike Hearn are.

Probably heard of Gavin Andresen in a Netflix documentary, but otherwise can’t name a single contribution that he made to the project.

They don’t know about Kevin Pham, Justin Vendetta or Rhett Clayton either.

Wild!

Asymmetric knowledge is a superpower!

Indeed. As someone who goes back in this space to the cypherpunk era of the mid 90s, and who has been involved with Bitcoin almost from the beginning, I often don't recognize today's Bitcoin "movement", the players, or the agenda.

Fortunately Bitcoin itself is doing just fine, and I know that movements morph and change as they age and grow with new members.

For the best really. Some of these are worth mentions in a whose who, or historical for context, but people will come and go

Imagine entire nation of El Salvador having no clue :) Feels good.

I wish Roger wouldn’t have given into the dark side.

He probably wishes that himself. But launching BCH was a necessary experiment and a test for Bitcoin’s resilience. Had he not done it, some government or corporation would have attempted it.
