Thanks to some analysis from our intern nostr:npub17plqkxhsv66g8quxxc9p5t9mxazzn20m426exqnl8lxnh5a4cdns7jezx0 , according to opt-in AppStore analytics one of the biggest issues with Damus is user retention. 99% of people stop using damus after 6 months.

In the next version we will be looking at ways to get mores users to that “ah ha” moment that gets them to stick around like all of us addicts.

Ideas welcome! Notifications is obviously a big one, but maybe we could make it easier to get people their first sats.

I think lack of content discovery is a big issue. When you see all things bitcoin and no other useful content, it’s easier to leave. I’m eager to test that, wouldn’t take my word for it.

Discussion

I was just having this discussion with Kieran yesterday and outlined a plan to handle it.

Is that what Primal wants to do? Separate algorithms to try out or something like that?

From feedback it seems content discovery is the big one, I assume this is true as most value experienced seems to be derived from interaction with people and notes in the network.

Care to share your plans on improving on this?

Yeah I’ll record some thoughts in a bit!
