I still have to get rid of my mother's remains. I was a dutiful, caring, concerned daughter who always did her best, and ultimately was punished for that for completely unknown and unknowable reasons. I had decided a while before her death to scatter the ashes up the lane to her old house and maybe even in her old garden as the new owners don't live there yet. And I probably will, at some point. No-one else in the family is remotely interested, which is interesting in itself.
