First it depends on where you leave and culture. Some people the houses are cold and it makes sense. There is also hygiene in separating what you use on the bed then the rest. That being said I use t shirt and shorts for going to bed. I also poo poed old people using underclothes like the white beater under shirt or the warm pants under the regular pants until learning they are freaking useful depending on the context.
