Exploding Head syndrome (EHS) is the parasomnia the only bothers the sleeper, and very much so at that. Imaging being awakened by a sound so loud and dreadful that you awaken certain that you are about to die.

I had that for a while. Few minutes after I lay in bed a sudden loud noise (like a bang or something) just happens. I certainly didn't feel like I am about to die but it wakes me up.

Pretty strange that I exerienced it the most while EH was still alive 😅.

Now it happens rarely. Like once a month
