I think about this often. We don't have a clothes dryer or AC in our house. We get along just fine.

So many of our "needs" are manufactured for the benefit of the fiat growth-forever machine.

In Japan it’s very common to dry clothes outside or in sun rooms. But when I live AC is a must. You probably could get by without, but it would be very uncomfortable and borderline deadly.
