I would argue further that confirmation that an identity is who they say they are and confirmation that content was truly posted by that identity was a matter of life and death since the advent of digital communications, and that it has been a necessity for all human beings ever since. After all this time thinking this way, I can see that this is a product of my skeptical nature, that prepared me to recognize nostr when it arrived, rather than a reflection of some paranoid by default personality defect that most people around me never understood and too often wished to ostracize.
