Alby is good for streaming too?

I'd love to understand more what a signer extension is and how it's safe. I figured a Browser extension would be less secure?

Calling all nerds! #asknostr Who can answer this I am not a dev or security expert really just enough knowledge to be dangerous over here…

A signer extension is just an app that holds your nsec and signs things when other apps need it. It's only safer because you just keep it in one app instead of spreading through many, but you are still thrusting your nsec with the app. Alby is a good nostr signer and custodial lighting wallet.

A browser extension is more secure than pasting private keys into websites. The wallet (signing device) receives anm authentication request which you sign (and broadcast) locally. You don't expose your nsec to the website or app.

As for streaming on ZapStream, check out this guide.
