Where does the yield come from? Risk. That's what I always tell people. You're better off just stacking and chilling. The whole point of #Bitcoin is to end the yield madness.
A reader got in touch because he wasn't sure if he should send his #Bitcoin to a platform, to earn interests.
My answer's always the same:
It's always risky to send Bitcoin to an online platform. Because then it's NOT YOURS anymore - not your keys, not your coins.
You just have an IOU. And you have to TRUST the platform they'll send your coins back to you when you ask for a withdrawal.
That's why:
If you don't want to lose anything, keep your #Bitcoin in your wallet.
#Bitcoin in your wallet is always WORTH MORE than Bitcoin on any platform.
If you REALLY want to earn interests, you need to find a reliable platform - but you can never know if it will stay reliable in the future.
So, only keep there the coins you're willing to LOSE.
The platform in question was freebitco .in. Because of "don't trust, verify," I requested a withdrawal. And, within a few hours, I received my coins - and I felt relieved, TBH.

I've been using it for 7 years, withdrawing regularly, with no issues.
I even bought their premium membership.
(I replaced the #BTC I used for that.)

Discussion
Yeah, I tend to agree.
But when people ask, I'd rather simply give the facts, tell them my experience, and let them make their own decision.
