Depends on the POV; bots having easy access to NIP-05 verification is terrible, but regular people having it either for free or through paying a relay maintainer to get it while directly supporting their contributions to the Nostr network is a good thing.

Also removes the exclusivity verification has (or had, in the case of Twitter) on other social media platforms.

It makes the whole concept vestigial. If everyone can verify, then no one ought to, because it makes no difference.

You could argue the same for verification on the fediverse, especially when it's not a universal thing like on centralized social media or places like Nostr.
