The current wallet UX on Damus could be improved imo.

Right now wallet connect is in its own setting. When I select WoS under zap settings, it still uses the alby connection.

It seems the only way to pause the wallet connect is to disconnect it.

Ideally, at least in my mind, wallet connect should be in the wallet settings and alby as an option. Since they are the only ones who seemed to have implemented this atm, perhaps have a toggle for one tap zaps that then shows the alby option and explains how one tap payments work.

Thoughts?

If you hardcode Alby you're ensuring that Alby will be used 99% of the times and people will assume this is the Alby protocol.

I see your point and I agree we need options. But at the same time I don’t think anyone is going to think of it as the alby protocol. Anyone who uses and has used lightning on nostr by now knows exactly what’s going on and why things are the way they are.

But ya, would be nice to switch wallets easily though I don’t think that’s our priority right now…

The specific ask of #[2] is to simply provide a non-QR way (paste string) to set up a NWC wallet, as mutiny runs on phone. This makes scanning your own QR code on your phone with your phone’s camera difficult 😀.

#damus dev team is aware. #[2] y’all are also welcome to open a PR as well, as we are still only with 1 FTE dev in Will 🙏
