I was screwing around with trucker hitch knots, and wound up throwing up a simple 10x12 awning as an experiment. I put the single free standing propane burner under it, along with a rocket stove, a couple milk crates, a pallet wood end table, a chair, and a tiny 800 watt 2 stroke generator.

The awning channels rain to one drip point. It has shed 10 gallons of water into buckets 🪣 in today’s drizzling rain 🌧️.

It took like 2 hours to set up then I stood back and laughed because I realized if i added a sleeping setup, i could live here comfortably for a while.

Many of our “needs” are actually extreme luxuries worth being thankful for.
