I'm not much of an Apple user but the newest pencils are pretty legit. I would highly suggest the PaperLike screen covers for a textured friction between the pencil and glass. Without this it's pretty painful as the pencil slips around the screen. There are also custom nibs for the tip of the pen but I haven't tried any alternatives.

Does she want it for specific apps?

Does she prefer touch or Magic Keyboard input?

Keyboard undocking becomes pretty annoying, switching from touch feels effortless.

The input precision enhances certain creative apps, it means little for many others.

Shes looking at procreate. We are hoping to open her world of art

I find PencilKit based drawing apps like Freeform more responsive and life like, Procreate has more brush variety and editing options though.

It has solid mechanics for replacing paper, lacks Files app based file management though. Keeping Procreate data safe requires turning on iCloud Backup or regularly manually exporting all drawings to Files.

It can offer a solid drawing experimentation toolset, Procreate Dreams for animation too.

My graphic designer ex girlfriend loves the Apple Pencil. Procreate is also great 👍
