Interactive or not I am not sure it makes any difference what you consume TV or internet. TV wastes time but it also entertains and brings people together to talk about their favorite entertainment (tv shows, movies).

Consuming articles while seemingly learning for the sake of learning can also be a waste of time. If the goal is to accomplish and all one does is consume “until they are ready to start”, they’re wasting time. Twitter is a waste of time. Nostr is a waste of time.

Point being all of these things can be a waste of time until they are not. We make friends on nostr, socialize over TV. They are all just different forms of entertainment. Some more useful than others but some deceptively all-consuming at the pretense of learning and productivity. It’s all subjective.

Some people even enjoy wasting time because their life is painful or difficult. I don’t want to be them but that’s an option and I wont judge them for it. Sure, they can reclaim time and do something more productive, but maybe they don’t want to? I won’t tell them what to do.

Hell, people waste entire lives living a life they don’t enjoy. If you did happy having spent your entire life watching tv then maybe you’re the smart one and we’re all idiots 😂

For context: I only watch some Netflix while doing stationary chores. I don’t consider it a waste of time in the moment despite the chore itself being a waste of time.

I used to consume 3-5 hours of programming a night, then I started doing things. That TV was garbage entertainment. Last night i watched a documentary on permaculture practices while eating my last meal of the night.

If someone wants to turn off their brain power to them. After consideration I realize the language similarities we create computer programs. Both are trying to achieve a desired result of programming, what kind is my fear.
