Maybe you know. I got some comfrey roots last fall. I've been growing them in a pot all winter. They've gotten quite large. How warm does the weather need to be to transplant them to my garden? How frost tolerant are the leaves?

I’m in northern Illinois. I have already moved around outside plants to other locations and they are doing great. We have had a few freezes and early leaves have some browning but new ones are still coming. If it’s been outside all winter maybe bring it outside every day and let it get used to it. I have one I’ve had inside but haven’t brought it out yet

Mine's been growing for a month in southern NJ.

Unless you're way north you're probably fine to transplant outside. Mulch it well, and even if the leaves take a hit, the roots should still be good

Beautiful!
