Then again it should be easy to hide from the UI. Developer stuff should be opt-in, I think.

It’s not a developer feature necessarily. It’s on by default in gossip.
Similar to being able to see UTXO information in a bitcoin wallet. Although not as important.
Yeah no not necessarily, but I think I just saw a comment yesterday from a non-technical user who was intimidated by all the JSON stuff and it being so readily available in the UI. No idea which client, though. It's not for everyone. And I'm not sure if it's even a good reason to hide it either.
This is in Nostrgram, the ℹ button gives the raw JSON. That's sufficient.
