I agree with you, but that is not a response to my question about digital freedom tech.

Presently, if THEY want to take something from us physically, THEY have a far greater power projection capability than "we" do. Having bitcoin and nostr is great, until THEY feel threaten, and then THEY can use physical force.

My point is, what good is digital freedom tech and the ability to say what you want, when they send a cruise missile to physically destroy the virtual infrastructure? If we focus on the virtual, at the expense of the physical, it's probable that the virtual will not matter...

Right but THEY are essentially farming the lower classes, the fact is they can just keep squeezing US for a while. I think even in the eventual dystopia where the vast majority is digitally locked down, physical exits will still be possible.

I don’t believe destruction of the natural world is THEIR goal and I can see a future in which our digital freedom tech allows decentralized off grid living (communal or solo or partnerships) and local circular economies. Even larger networks are possible if the main grid systems stay available (we don’t totally break down or succumb to world war)

Sure we’re back to basics and “lower” standards of living. But with mesh networks, small renewable energy systems and a gov’t that just stays out of your life….(here’s hoping) I see a future I could get down with.

Again, I agree with you, and my hopes are for a peaceful society that knows how to live in harmony with nature.

What I do not know or understand is our collective desire to escape the present moment and the reality of the natural world, replacing it with a digitalised virtual metaverse. I see the obvious benefits of control, if that is the ultimate desire of the hierarchy, but I do not want that for anyone or anything.

I am all for technology and its usefulness, but where are we all heading? The only reality is here and now, there is no there and then, everything outside of the present moment is an illusion, is it not?

Have you seen Star Trek: Insurrection? I would draw a parallel to the philosophy of the Ba'Ku...

Ah. Yes. I think if you look around you’ll see there are already people moving away towards something like that. Why isn’t it all happening and heading that direction? Have you read 3 Body Problem? Once the story picks up speed you see humanity in different epochs and the culture changes a lot with either a technological leap or a cultural shift.

I think when there’s a feeling of disempowered people, the whole vibe shifts downwards and often we won’t be able to see the ways in which society is changing for the better.

That’s my hope. We will figure it out and society will shift. However I will prob be dead ☠️.
