For those looking to go down the rabbit hole, this problem isn't new. It was postulated by Darwin himself, refered to as Darwin's doubt. Nevertheless, naturalism was an attractive proposition for statists looking to capture the religious. The worldview of naturalism was promoted as the rational conclusion of scientific enquiry. The results was to sift the focus of minds from the transcendent to the imminent. Fueling consumerism and hedonistic fulfillment which can be harnessed and led into debt slavery.
