controlled? no. will we have clients that use advertising someday? yes.
and for the why, it seems pretty inevitable to me. it's a business model that has existed and proven to generate a lot of revenue in the past. nostr is open and that means anyone can try any type of business model that they way. the greater nostr user base will decide if they like the trade offs that come with this territory.
I hope it becomes a nostr-client-sponsor or a nostr-relay-client relationship while nostr itself stays intact.
Sponsors, like investors, have written and unwritten rules. Those rules ruin all good things sooner than later.
