There is evidence that shows caffeine disrupts sleep and your ability to rest. It also uses nutrients like calcium from your bones to give you that energy. The caffeine itself doesn’t give you energy, but it pushes your body to find energy sources in other places. This isn’t great long term. Also, a lot of coffee beans have mold and are drenched in pesticides. I still drink a little bit of coffee but it’s not completely free of risk.

Fair points on the downsides! Like most things in life, coffee’s about risk/reward and personal tolerance. Quality matters…single origin, organic beans help with the mold/pesticide concerns. Timing matters too for sleep. Appreciate the balanced perspective. Nothing’s ever completely free of trade-offs.
Yes it’s all tradeoffs. I used to be addicted to coffee. Was able to get off it for good. Started drinking again recently. Skipped one day and felt off. Not terribly off because I don’t drink it as much as I used to but it is annoying to develop a dependency.
