It’s remarkable how rubbish #MacOS still is!

I thought it was made for non-technical users, until i bought a MacBook Air M2.

Half a day now spent just figuring out how to make a hotel network login prompt come up in any browser wih #ivpn enabled, and still not working after reading so much related advice. 🤕

No help so far from anything i read from #Apple or ivpn.

Such outrageously overrated, overpriced shit this Apple gear! 🤬

Even without any ivpn connected, 4th day now trying to connect either iOS or #MacOS to hotel wifi unsuccessfully.

The network login window just doesn’t open.

On Android, opened on first try. So, it’s definitely #Apple issue, or whatever changes #ivpn makes in their rubbish OS.

I bought this #MacBook for travel. Now starting to regret that.

Internet filled with a decade of reports and discussions of this problem; all reposting same solutions that don’t work for anyone there.

#Apple can’t fix this basic issue. Such overrated #shit!

just use cellular. If you can afford a macbook, iphone, and android, you can afford a hotspot smh

This is pretty easy to fix. You just navigate to " http://1.1.1.1" while you're connected to the wireless access point in question and it's very likely that you'll be forwarded to the captive portal so that you can log in. ezpzgg.

Oh, I see the problem. You can't be logged into a VPN and expect to reach the captive portal because it very likely lies behind network address translation. Turn off your VPN, then log into the captive portal, and then turn the VPN back on.
