Two things can be true. Even if Israel were an aggressor (I don't agree with that statement, but that's irrelevant), Turkey also is one, and that's not even controversial.

On top of that, Erdogan's Turkey is also a bad faith actor and disloyal to the alliance. It's arms dealings with Russia are the cherry on top of a string of vetoes and boycotts with absolutely everybody, from Egypt to the Emirates, to even defensive deployments to protect Poland and the Baltics, which are supposedly the most sensitive front of the alliance.

Turkey is a bad actor, all around, and nobody would move a finger to "help" them.

Yes Turkyie has one leg to one boat the other to another boat and not many sympathise them because of that. Still it has the second strongest army in NATO and its geography is important. NATO cannot be of the same value without Turkyie. So the situation is complicated.

Israel invaded Syria now. That is aggression for example

Turkey is sadly one of the most important keystones in NATO.

And WRT one foot in one boat and one foot in another boat that is nothing new or strange for them.

Yes nothing new or strange for them, but this policy simulates more to the era of Souleiman the magnificent, not the era of world war I for example, and that says a lot.

Let's recap back to when you said "Article 5 vs Israel". Ain't ever, NEVER, happening. That's an absolute. Additionally: to "defend" Turkey? Even LESS.

That was my whole point.

No it won't. Nobody will aid Turkey to reenact Erdogan's neo-Ottoman islamofascist ambitions anymore than they have already allowed him and tolerated his constant aggression and disloyalty. Least of all against Israel.

It is not about aiding Turkyie that much. There are a lot of other things. For example article 5 called de facto for Ukraine, despite the fact that Ukraine is not a NATO member. So if a NATO member calls article 5 and there is no support for the country, then what is the point of the alliance. Especially if that country is an important one. This can have the potential to break NATO. Also it can be very beneficial for other countries like Russia and Iran to expand their influence. That can change much in the area. Also nobody really cares about Israel. It is a semi pariah terrorist state that murders children after all. Without USA they are almost nothing. And if USA choose Israel against Turkyie, which is what expected, USA will lose much. Especially in the area. So they will be less of a help for Israel than they are now.

But there is also the possibility that Israel and Turkyie cooperate, who knows?
