The easiest way to cause your friends and family to lose their bitcoin is to convince them to move to a multisig setup.

I feel like we would like to hear more about this

So many pitfalls and ways to shoot yourself in the foot with multisig.

Even if you setup everything correctly, both the know-how and keys (and xpubs) need to survive possibly many decades. If you die, your wife and kids probably won't be able to recover it or will get scammed by "someone willing to help".

Singlesig is adequate enough and has the best simplicity-security tradeoff for 99% of use cases.

git checkout -b multisig

😡

Someone is paying attention, nice troll 😉

Don't SeedXOR/shamir provide similar security benefits as multisig PLUS:

* they are more private: on-chain transactions just look like any other single sig, you can hide in a larger crowd

* easier to setup decoy wallets by funding wallets generated by a single piece of the split. This offers plausible deniability against a 5 dollar wrench attack.

What am I missing?
