You aren't ready for the idea that people would invest money, knowing they will not get their principle returned.

But we see it happening.

Money, it turns out, is not everything.

Science doesn't come for free.

Also, you don't expect to get what you want in research and, most of the time, good research results benefit others but not you

Some people are also investing effort, not knowing if there will ever be a return on investment, and bearing the cost of missing out on more lucrative employment.
