China is not a threat to the U.S. because of TicToc. Even as an economic threat, it has already won. China has stayed the course in becoming an industrialized, productive nation. The United States has given into neoconservatives who traded industrialization for finance capitalism and its associated passing around and reframing of dollars. Now we produce nothing, because rent extraction from citizens is easier and more profitable for the oligarchy.
