Yeah, my sons and I saw a wolverine TWICE in the same day at the Mosquito Flats entrance to the John Muir trail in the Eastern Sierras of California 10 or 11 years ago. When we reported it to the ranger station they wouldn’t count it as a “confirmed sighting” since my son was only 8 years old at the time. An actual confirmed sighting was reported this year. Since the average lifespan of a wolverine at 7 to 12 years, I assume that there is a natural breeding population in the area.
