Whenever someone (sincerely) says “I don’t gamble” I lose a little respect for them. You gamble every single day whether you realize it or not. Figure out how to do it well… don’t pretend to avoid it.

I prefer to take calculated risks. It's not the same as gambling.

Gambling is chance you can't influence. Calculated risk is probability you can.

Gambling is such a loaded term. Almost everybody I know thinks gambling=making sucker bets. There is nothing inherint in gambling that says it must be -EV
